Thakur Jeu

Thakur jeu is known as a pure religious site, which is located in the Jumla district. As it is a religious site, peoples who believe in the religion they explore the Thakur jeu on the occasion of Janai Purnima / Raksha Bandhan. People have believed that if they went there with their wishes, their wishes will be fulfilled by the great Thakur jeu. And this great place can emerge as the best trekking destination which would be two days camping trek from Khalanga Bazar, Jumla.



Gothichaur(Spectaclur Grassland)



We can analyze this place by hearing its name. Gothichaur is derived from two Nepali words, one is Gothi/ goth which means a place where animal husbandry can be done or where the animal lives, and another chaur means grassland. It lies in Gothichaur municipalities. And peoples of Jumla take their animals like cows, buffalo, ox, horse, and sheep there for more than 3 months and mainly during the season of paddy and beans planting.

Chimara Malika



This Malika is also a tremendous religious site. Which is also traveled on the occasion of Janai Purnima / Raksha Bandhan. People start their trek from early morning by taking all the foodstuff and other materials which are mandatory for overnight stay. And people start their trip a day before Janaipurnima. People mainly go there with the hope of fulfilling their wishes. This Malika is also lying between 3500 m -4000m above the sea level.


Basi Malika



Basi Malika is also the same destination as the other three Malikas. And it is also explored on the occasion of Janaipurnma/ Rakshyabandhan. People also go with the same beliefs of fulfilling their wishes and desires. A lot of people from different places as well as different districts cames here in order to fulfill their desires as well as to capture the spectacular view of majestic mountains and evergreen hills and to see the culture of that native village. And the gateway of this Malika is

Tatopani(Natural Hot Spring



It is a historical place where hot water comes 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. This kind of place are rare in our country that’s why it can a potential source to use it as a major tourism product by managing it very appropriately. And there is a belief that skin diseases can be cured after taking bath from here. And this also can be a great experience for tourists. And this place is only 30 minutes far from Kalanga Bazar.


Danfe Lekh(Hill Looks Like Danfe Bird)



Danfe hill is also named as Danfe lekh in Nepali. Danfe is the national bird of Nepal which named as Lophorous in English. It is also the best trek from Khalanaga Bazar and Kalanga Bazar is the gateway to this Danfe lek trek. During the trek, we can get golden opportunity to do sightseeing the first-ever technical school of Nepal “Karnali Technical School”  (KTS). As well as a popular picnic spot named Cherya chaur which is full of grass and surrounded by evergreen hills and snowcapped mountains. Danfe hill is named the hill which looks like the bird Danfe.  Approximately it lies around 3800m – 4200m above the sea level. From the top of Danfe Lekh, we can get the wonderful chance to encounter the tantalizing and breathtaking snowcapped mountains like Kanjiruwa ana Patarasii. As well as from the Danfe lek we can see the spectacular view of Khalanga Bazar and Patmara village.


Fulchaule danda(Huge Grassland)



It is a pure natural grassland where native villagers used to keep their animals like cow, buffalo, ox, goat, horse, and sheep for two or three months. This danda is 4-5 hours far from Hanku village and this is a very interesting trek through Gidhikhola village which very wonderful village attached to the forest, river, and plain land.  And their people are also so hospitable. And during the trek to Fulchaule Danda, we can encounter different flora and fauna, different species of medicinal herbs like pachaaule , shatuwa, Guneino, Ghodomachho,  and so on. The Fulchaule danda height is around 4800m above the sea level. If you do camping there you can have a stunning sunrise as well as a sunset. And you will be the top of the clouds and you can see clouds moving below you. And finally, you can also get the chance to enjoy the view of the 180-degree mountain if the weather takes your sides.


Vurchulla Malika



I wanna tell you one thing that in our country, there are mainly four Malikas.

They have their own- own historical and cultural importance. You can explore one similarity between all four Malikas on the occasion of Janai Purnima/Rakshya Bandhan.

Chandanath Temple



This temple is the most popular temple of the Karnali region and also of Jumla district.

This temple has its own historical importance similar to Pashupatinath of Kathmandu, Muktinath of mustang, and Kedarnath of India.

And this temple is located at the heart of the Kalanga Bazar( 2300m).

Besides this temple, there is one temple that is also popular and attracts religious peoples towards it and that temple is Bhairavnath.

Both temples can be the great religious site to attracts a huge number of religious tourists from India and other parts of our country.
